Elena Parsons, MS, LMHC, LPC

Elena Parsons is a Florida-Licensed Mental Health Counselor, an Oregon-Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Certified Interactive Guided Imagery℠ Practitioner.

Elena currently serves as a Cancer Counselor with Cancer Counseling Now. 

Elena earned her Master of Science in Counseling from Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, with continuing graduate studies in Spirituality & Medicine and Marriage & Family Systems Theory at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida.

In addition to maintaining active status as both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#MH3516) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (#C2912). Elena is certified in Advanced Hypnosis and was formerly certified as an Associate Addictions Professional.

Elena served as a Cancer Patient Support Services (CaPSS) Counselor for eight years at Morton Plant Mease Healthcare, Clearwater, Florida, providing counseling, education and referral resources to cancer patients, family members and caregivers in both an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Elena also has worked as an in-home counselor for end-of-life patients for Suncoast Hospice, now named Empath, St. Petersburg, Florida, the nation’s largest Hospice organization. 

Elena earned her certification in Interactive Guided Imagery℠ from the Academy for Guided Imagery, Los Angeles, California, directed by Dr. David Bressler and Dr. Marty Rossman, both pioneers of the Guided Imagery movement. 

Inspired by the benefit she observed cancer patients enjoying from her own practice of Interactive Guided Imagery℠, she founded Parsons-Wilson Guided Imagery to help make this unique form of relaxation therapy better understood, accepted and applied.

Elena is also known as Elena Parsons-Wilson.
